Not My Time
I suppose it's still not my time. I got the call yesterday that they have selected somebody else but they at least had good things to say about me. There were actually a lot of good things said. The one thing that I can feel good about is that it seems like they got somebody that is way senior that they could not pass on which is fine. I suppose I really cant be all that mad. It is what it is. I never really put the champagne on ice so at least I don't have to put it back up.
What amazes me still is that doors keep opening by the day. There are always talks of contract jobs or interesting full time jobs but I can't get them to close fast enough. I certainly don't expect that companies rush the process just for me but i am dumbfounded at how slowly thing go. I tell people all the time that this is a lot harder than you might think and not to take your job for granted. Newsflash - George is tired of hearing how talented he is and that it should be no time before something comes my way. Talent yes, but your assumption of how easy the job market is right now is irrelevant and completely misguided. More so, your attempt to make me feel better is not grounded in any reality. Rant over.
But the doors are still there opening which I am not quite sure how to take. Sure it's good but this has all proven that there is no guaranteed return on getting introduced to a role. Hell I have had a temp contract gig before me for a month now but even they can't 1. Send me a valid contract and 2. Spell my name correctly on a valid contract. This is turning into more of a rant. I'm done.
