A50738 and D1
As I was walking back to the DZ hanger this Sunday after my first jump of the day, I hear a much older man at the door say, "Man, looks like the winds shifted around on you a lot during that jump. They really picked up and switched up on you." I am suddenly the kid that just met Hank Aaron. I am standing in front of Lew Sanborn. Lew is known to be the first great American skydiver who began his career jumping in the military in 1948. As progress through my career (hopefully a long safe one) skydiving gaining new skills and increasing my number of completed jumps, I will move from my "A" license to my "B", then to "C", and 500 jumps later to my "D" which is a lifetime license. With each new license I will get a number that is the next highest in numeric order to the person that obtained that license previously before me.
I am A50738.
Lew Sanborn is D1.

holy mackrel!!!!!!!
That's awesome, and hopefully stoked your fires even more. Even more cool that he's still taking an interest and approachable.
Way cool!
